Explore the lanes and paths of 18th century Chiswick

May 11, 2022
Brentford & Chiswick Local History Society and William Hogarth Trust have co-created In Georgian Footsteps, a guided trail of 18th Century Chiswick.
The ancient Bath Rd – today’s Chiswick High Rd, ran east-west across common land where Chiswick and Acton parishes met – now known as Turnham Green.
Burlington Lane linked the two villages, Chiswick Town in the east and Strand on the Green to the west.
The walk starts here, taking in St Mary’s convent, Hogarth’s House, St Nicholas’ churchyard, Chiswick Mall, the riverfront, The George & Devonshire and Chiswick House Gardens
You can download the trail here.
