CHISWICK HOUSE OFFERS FREE ENTRY TO KITCHEN GARDEN

Jan 25, 2024
Chiswick House & Gardens Trust has announced that they will be offering free entry to their ‘thriving, productive’ Kitchen Garden from 28th March until 27th October 2024. Visitors will be able to explore the 17th century walled garden free of charge.
From asparagus and edible flowers to pumpkins and dahlias, the team is cultivating an incredible 200+ varieties of fruit, veg, flowers and herbs in the space.
Rosie Fyles, Head of Gardens: ‘‘Our dedicated gardening team and volunteers pour incredible effort into cultivating this bountiful space, yet the majority of visitors to the grounds have yet to explore this hidden gem.
"For over 300 years this walled garden has offered visitors beauty, pleasure and connection and it’s been a personal aim to share this unique space more widely.’’
NOT JUST A PRETTY PLACE
In 2023, the Garden donated over a tonne of nutritious produce. This translated into over 2600 meals for charities working to address local food poverty, including The Felix Project and Surplus to Supper.
The Kitchen Garden is also a community hub and a peaceful haven. Multiple community groups and schools from across Hounslow are welcome to tackle issues such as isolation, loneliness and a lack of access to nature.
Visit the Kitchen Garden, open Thursday-Sunday, 10.30am-3.30pm from 28th March until 27th October 2024. Access is via the Gardeners’ Gate located on the path between the Conservatory and the Rosary.
