The London Underground stretches across 250 miles connecting 272 stations, with 11 lines, plus the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), Elizabeth Line, National Rail services and the recently renamed London Overground lines.
WHERE TO LIVE IN THE CAPITAL
Knowing the average rent for each London borough is helpful but sometimes what you need are specifics. For example, it would be good to see exactly how much your rent is likely to be based on the nearest underground station.
Barratt London has created an interactive map that shows how much you would have to pay.
LONDON’S MOST EXPENSIVE PROPERTIES
We already know that most people will never be renting or buying in Central London. The Capital's most expensive tube stop is Westminster, where the average monthly rent is a staggering £13,750.
Second on the list is Sloane Square in Chelsea, at £11,960 a month, followed by Hyde Park Corner in Knightsbridge at £11,270. Check out the interactive map in full here.
WEST LONDON’S CHEAPEST RENTALS - HOUNSLOW WEST – £1,500 PER MONTH
Excluding areas outside fare zones 1-6, there are 10 London areas with market rents of £1,500 per calendar month (PCM) or less. This includes postcodes surrounding the Windrush, Elizabeth, Central and Piccadilly lines.
The most affordable properties are in Anerley, Penge West and Norwood Junction. These south London areas boast the capital's lowest monthly rents at around £1,400 and speedy commutes to London Bridge.
