The busiest and quietest train stations in every London Borough

Jan 5, 2024
THE LATEST government figures have revealed which train station was the busiest between 2022 and 2023. Office for Rail & Road (ORR) data looks at the number of people entering and exiting every train station in the country, including the stations for which data was collected across all London Boroughs.
Its figures show Liverpool Street in London overtook Waterloo as the most-used station in Great Britain, which the ORR attributed to the opening of London's latest train service, the Elizabeth Line. Waterloo had been the busiest station in the country in all but one of the previous 18 years, but it dropped to third in the year to March behind Paddington, also on the Elizabeth Line.
WHAT ABOUT CHISWICK?
In W4 - London Borough of Hounslow - Feltham was with busiest station with 3,076,578 entries and exits, with Chiswick being the least busiest with 589,318. In W4 - London Borough of Ealing, the busiest station was Ealing Broadway with 8,237,356 journeys and Drayton Green was the least busy station with 16,082.
Overall, the borough with the busiest total train travel across all stations is Westminster, while the quietest is Barking and Dagenham which is served only by two stations. Westminster also has the highest average station users out of the boroughs, containing many major central stations including Tottenham Court Road, London Victoria and London Paddington.
